Jeff Michel
Jeffrey J. “Jeff” Michel (March3, 1947 – June20, 2016) of Hendersonville, TN was born March 3, 1947 in Milwaukee and arrived in Heaven on June 20, 2016. Jeff was preceded to Heaven by his parents, Lois and John “Jack” Michel, and his infant grandson, Jacob Gabriel Michel. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife of 48 years, Lynn Peterson Michel, whom he affectionately called “Hotshot”. He is also survived by sons, Todd (Heather) Michel of Denver, CO, and Bryan (Marie) Michel of Dallas, TX, grandchildren Ethan, Paige, Liam, and Cian Michel, beloved brothers and sisters, Kathy (Tom) Buyarski, Steven Michel, Judy Michel Ross, Jackie (David) Lichter, Robert (Stephany) Michel, and Diane Eckes, his loving stepmom, Frances Schmittner Michel, his step brothers and step sisters, and many cherished nieces and nephews.
Jeff was an accomplished businessman. He began his career at JCPenney where he rose through the ranks over 24 years to President of JCPenney Telemarketing. Among many professional accomplishments, he took most pride in building 16 contact centers for 15,000 employees, in being the youngest member of the Management Council, and in leading a $240m project for new technology at JCPenney. As Chief Operating Officer at ClientLogic, he built a network of 42 contact centers in numerous countries. Jeff spent the last 12 years as President and Chief Operating Officer of Premier BPO Inc.
Family was of the utmost importance to Jeff. He believed in working hard and playing hard, loved sports and games, and was a tough competitor. He loved family traditions, travel, and spending time by the lake, all with his wife by his side. Jeff fought a courageous battle against Lyme and Lower Motor Neuron diseases. He is now raising a glass and enjoying the reunion with many relatives and friends who have gone before him.
